D75-21-215: Joint Action Routines (JARs) Academic
Speech 2021/2022

Description: During this 2-part series, classroom teams (subject/classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, speech therapists, etc.) will learn the elements of a Joint Action Routine (JAR) and how to implement this strategy within academic lessons and activities. Teams will see example JAR activities that are directly connected to academic curriculums and/or state standards. They will then be given time to collaborate with teams and other peers to plan an academic JAR for their students. Using a collaborative lesson plan as a guide, teams will be expected to implement these strategies with their students and if possible, video record their lesson for a follow-up. On day 2, teams will share videos and an academic lesson or concept for future use. (Please note: PD is virtual. The link to join will be emailed approximately 24 hours prior to PD date.)
