D75-26-290: Art of Stories - Two Part Series
Arts 2026/2027
Description: Join us for a two day PD, for Visual Arts Teachers, exploring the Art of Stories hosted by District 75 Arts and MoMA’s School and Teacher Program team!
During two days at MoMA, explore the structure and format of stories and learn the different ways stories can be told visually. Visit the exhibition “The Surrealist Book: Tomorrow Lives in Mirrors” to discover how artists like Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, and Andre Breton collaborated with other artists to create unexpected and experimental books. Engage with the interactive installation “In a Dream, We Entered a Book” to see how everyday objects, abstract shapes, and textures can tell stories.
After the PD, teachers will explore various artmaking experiences with students, bring stories to life and practice new techniques in your classroom, supporting your students self-expression, creativity, and learning.
Participating teachers will be required to explore artmaking techniques with students and participate in a district-wide project. Must be D75 Visual Arts Teacher
