Early Childhood, Mathematics (STEM) 2019/2020

Description: This one-day workshop is geared towards early childhood and elementary school educators who are looking to get more literacy out into their math lessons and more math out of their literacy lessons. Participants will connect children’s books to mathematical activities to create a seamless connect between ELA and Math. Topics will include choosing the right book for specific math skills, adapting or creating math books, connecting hands-on activities, and aligning activities to standards. The day will culminate with participants creating their own math children’s book. All of the activities will be aligned to the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards and the NYS Early Pre-Kindergarten Standards.
