D75-19-146: Gardening Indoors: Hydroponics & Aquaponics
Applied Learning, Instructional Technology (STEM) 2019/2020
Description: For teachers who have taken at least one Plant-Learn-Grow workshop in the past, this session will focus exclusively on using indoor hydroponic and aquaponic systems in the classroom. Participants will explore simple and more complex systems made from reusable everyday materials, and will construct at least one model to take back to their classroom. In addition to constructing models, participants will be introduced to the history and science of this type of horticulture and will learn where hydroponics are currently being used in the city and how to get involved.
