Early Childhood 2019/2020

Description: Do you often wonder how to teach independence and maintain student safety at the same time with your early learners? The short answer is that we must teach students how to be safe in order to support independence. The Offices of Travel Training and Early Childhood have partnered to give you a more in depth understanding paired with strategies, and tools that will promote independence and safety awareness. This collaborative professional learning opportunity will focus on using instructional strategies that promote student independence and the skills necessary to safely to navigate the school environment as well as life outside of school. Participants will learn about the Essential Elements, and how they can be connected to developmentally appropriate instruction around safety and independence starting with our youngest learners. Please note that this professional learning opportunity is designed specifically for staff members working with Early Childhood ( grades PreK- 2nd only) .
