D75-24-168: D75 Arts and the Guggenheim
Arts 2024/2025
Description: D75 Arts and the Guggenheim program have partnered to develop a sensory inspired art marking experience for students in D75 focusing on the exhibition "Harmony and Dissonance: Orphism in Paris, 1910-1930". This program will culminate in a showcase of student artwork at the Guggenheim, Saturday, May 31. During this PD teachers will learn about visual literacy with exploring the exhibition, and discover how the art room is filled with ways to engage in literacy; from reading and discussing artworks, writing artist statements, to demonstrating what was learned through artistic expression. Additionally, we will dive into access and adaptations to support diverse learners! Please note: By coming to the workshop, teachers agree to complete a 3-part program with the students in your class. This includes observing artworks and learning about the artists in the exhibition (3 focus artists), discovering new techniques and artmaking with students, as well as showcasing the students' work at the culminating celebration and exhibition. Program Guides and lesson topics will be given to teachers at the PD. - Priority Given to D75 Art Teachers. This is a 1-Day workshop offered on 2 dates to accommodate more people. Please only register for 1 date.
