D75-18-210: Professional Learning Series for ELL teachers, administrators, classroom teachers, and related service providers: Introduction to ENL Methodologies
English Language Learners 2018/2019

Description: Participants will learn about the various legal cases which became the means to providing students with disabilities from other-than-English language backgrounds with equal access to learning. Theories of language acquisition will be explored, and ENL methodologies used to support learners in the process of acquiring language/communication skills will be demonstrated. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to practice the strategies used to facilitate communication for ELLs with disabilities. This CTLE approved session may be used toward the 15% Commissioners Regulations (CR) Part 154 Professional Development requirement regarding ELL topics for non-ENL and non-bilingual teachers, administrators, related service providers and Jose P. Training Part 1, as well as toward the 50% Commissioners Regulations (CR) Part 154 Professional Development requirement for ELL teachers.
