Description: Since 2016 the Jim Henson Foundation has teamed up with District 75 to offer this amazing PD teaching participants how to utilize puppets when working with students with autism. Puppetry can be used as a tool for interaction, pretend play, communication, de-escalation, joint attention, turn taking, and more! This 3 part workshop led by professional puppeteers Lindsey "Z." Briggs and Adelka Polak, will explore the basics of puppetry performance technique as well as discuss ways to utlitze puppets in their current practice. Each participant will receive their own personal puppets to utilize within the PD and for ongoing work their students. The course is open to all educators and related service providers working with students with ASD. This workshop is CANCELLED.
