Social Studies 2018/2019
Description: This one-day professional learning offering will explore social studies content via the Social Studies Scope and Sequence and the Common History/Social Studies Standards. Participants will be guided through content from the New York City Social Studies Scope and Sequence as their backdrop to creating newsletters, PowerPoint and using Green Screen. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of using these three technology tools during instructional practice to enhance student engagement and student comprehension in the content area of social studies. These technology tools will help bring modern elements into the educator's classroom. Participants will receive a one-day course completion certificate from the District 75 Office of Literacy and Social Studies. This workshop is CTLE approved and is open to administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers and SETSS providers.
