D75-19-449: The Role of the Paraprofessional in a Multilingual Classroom
English Language Learners 2019/2020

Description: What is the role of a paraprofessional in a classroom with multilingual learners? Join us to discuss the benefits of inclusive and culturally responsive teaching, best practices in providing home language support as well as how to increase safety and independence for students in District 75. This PD is intended for paraprofessionals who work with multilingual learners in monolingual classes, mixed group classes, dual language and/or transitional bilingual classes. CTLE credit will be given for participation in the session. The session hours earned will count toward non-ELL teachers’ 15% and ENL and Bilingual teachers’ 50% professional learning requirement on ELL/MLL topics as per Commissioner’s Regulations (CR) Part 154.
