Social Studies 2019/2020

Description: This one-day course is for participants who have already taken the Introduction to Passport to Social Studies workshops. In this workshop, participants will continue to build upon earlier work around the NYC Social Studies Scope & Sequence and Passport curriculum to elevate classroom instructional practice. The emphasis here will be to explore more deeply, ways to adapt the Passport lessons to make them more meaningful and engaging for their students. Participants will be shown multiple examples of ways to adapt the material for their classroom, and have chances throughout the day to practice adapting lessons and share their results with the group. Participants will receive a one-day course completion certificate from the District 75 Office of Literacy and Social Studies. This workshop is CTLE approved and is open to administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers and SETSS providers.
