Description: In this workshop, participants will develop questioning strategies which promote students’ authentic inquiry and engagement. We will explore a variety of purposes for asking questions. Participants will learn about types of questions and effective ways of using them during instruction. Guidelines, strategies and resources for asking effective questions will be investigated through modeled lessons. Additionally, we will discuss numerous ways of building a classroom environment that inspires curiosity as well as collaborative learning opportunities.
