Description: Getting around NYC can be no easy feat and often we do not realize how much mathematics we do everyday without knowing. This one-day workshop will focus on developing students understanding of mathematics through real-NYC problem solving. Participants will deepen their mathematical understanding and pedagogical skills through hands-on activities, multimedia, engineering challenges, and visual modeling. The day will target skills such as counting, reading schedules & planning a trip, measurement, and part-whole awareness.
