Description: This PD will lead to the understanding of how to organize the physical space of a classroom based on students' needs. Structured elements of a variety of proven methodologies will be introduced and used to create an effective, safe learning environment for students on the Autism Spectrum. Topics will include, Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, Classroom environment effects on learning and behavior, TEACCH & Structured Teaching. Discussions, Brainstorming activities, and development of mock classrooms will be implemented to support the presentation and facilitation.
