Counseling 2018/2019
Description: This 1 day workshop is for counselors only. Participants will learn how to incorporate art therapy into counseling sessions, as well as part of crisis response. Art therapy will be used to build relationships with both students and staff alike, as well as to develop a safe space within the school environment. Participants will use art therapy to build self-esteem and practice self-control. D75 counseling staff will be given priority. Aligned with 1b-Demonstrating Knowledge of Students; 2a- Creating an Environment of Respect and Rapport; 2d-Managing Student Behavior; 3b-Using Questioning and Discussion Techniques ; 4d- Participating in the Professional Community; 4e- Growing and Developing Professionally; 4f-Showing Professionalism.
