Description: Through a day of interactive experiences, participants will develop and deepen their understanding of communication and access to proactively enhance student learning. Teachers will discover different types of communication systems and learn how to use these systems to enhance communication, arts-based discussion, and artistic expression. Participants will explore ways to design classroom environments, and activities to promote student communication and independence. Additionally, we will discuss vocabulary tiers, effective questioning strategies, AAC and picture communication to reach all levels of learners. This PD is designed for Visual Art Teachers.
