D75-24-5148: Posters as an Accessible Tool for Cross-Curricular Learning and Civic Engagement
Arts, Literacy, Social Studies 2024/2025

Description: Join the Poster House Museum Education and Accessibility Team for an exciting day-long PD exploring posters as a democratic, cross-curricular, and accessible medium. Through gallery tours, inquiry-based pedagogy sessions, hands-on art-making, and collaborative lesson-planning, participants will discover and workshop new ways to bring poster analysis and creation back into their classrooms. Discussions will emphasize strategies and scaffolding for working with students with IEPs, and educators will leave with classroom-ready materials for integrating posters into their curricula. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about Education programming and Accessibility at Poster House. This professional development is geared towards K-12 Social Studies and Arts Teachers in District 75.
